Facebook Ads and Facebook Pixels for Yogis: Part III

Facebook Ads and Facebook Pixels for Yogis: Part III

Facebook is everywhere! Time to talk about Facebook Ads! More technical stuff for the marketer in you!

Facebook Ads

Advertising on Facebook is a powerful tool that can help you increase your following, both on and off Facebook. It can help you establish your website and grow your Yoga business. Now that your vision, your mission, and your brand identity are clear, nothing can stop you from realizing your dreams.
You are at a stage where you actively work to grow your online presence and extend your reach. Facebook ads can help you achieve just that.

The first step is ensuring you have created a Facebook Page for your Yoga website that supports your business goals and adds credibility to your ads. The ads you create will include your Page’s profile picture and name in the top-right corner, both of which link to your Page. As a beginner, I recommend using simple ad creation tools that are available on your Facebook Page and enable you to create, manage, and track your ads.

Same as with Google Ads, I would like to point out that, today, targeted advertising is very powerful, and at the same time, it respects the recipients. Sophisticated algorithms ensure your ads reach the people that need you most. Nothing like the times when the mailbox was flooded with irrelevant flyers or our screens were full of unwanted messages. As you will see in the coming sections, Facebook offers really specialized targeting options. And I am sure there is nothing wrong with reaching out to people who are looking for their ideal teacher!

Align your Facebook Ads with your vision and your unique offerings.

You have reached a stage now that your vision and your purpose need to get translated into measurable goals. There is plenty of technical advice out there, and you can always contact me with your questions as your marketing journey continues.

Your goals derive from your calling, your passion, and your dreams for your business. Brainstorming can also help you with your goals. Make sure you write them down before you examine how Facebook Ads can help you achieve them.

Here you can find detailed information about the types of ads you can create.

Examples of goals and recommended ad types

Note that the availability of your Facebook Ads is connected to the content of your Page. For example, if you haven’t created an event on your Page, the Event Ad type won’t be available.

Lookalike Audience – How Facebook helps you increase your following

Impressively, Facebook can help you find new followers (new customers) that share the same interests as your existing ones! The Ads Audiences tool identifies common qualities of people that already engage with your content and then finds others who share the same interests. By targeting those people, it is a lot easier to market your brand efficiently and expand your following.

Ad Center – Learn about your customers

The Ad Center of your Page (or Ads Manager) can provide:

  • Information about the performance of your ads
  • Insights about your audience, how they are responding, where they are from, their age, etc.
  • Data related to your goal for each ad (e.g., how many people responded from all those who saw the ad)

Automatic Placements – Your Ads appear on Instagram

Automatic Placements are set as default and ensure that posts promoted from your Facebook page appear as ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. The use of Automatic Placements is recommended; however, you could deactivate the placement to any of those media in the ad preview section.

What you determine when you create your ads

When you create ads from your Facebook Page, you can control most of the features. You can decide:

  • what it looks
  • what it says
  • whom you want to reach

Facebook also offers recommendations based on the information on your Page to help you create successful ads.

Facebook enables you to determine the following aspects:

  • Ad creative: You can determine how the ad looks. It can include text, images, videos, or even slideshows. It is also possible to include a call-to-action button that asks people to take action, like to JOIN NOW your retreat.
  • Audience: You can specify your audience based on age, gender, interests, etc. Facebook can also help by reaching people near your location or people already interested in Yoga.
  • Budget: The budget for your ads is pre-selected so you can feel safe.
  • Duration: You also determine the duration of your ads by specifying an end date.
  • Placements: You can also select where your ads appear. Your options are Desktop News Feed, Instagram Feed, or Messenger Inbox.

Facebook Pixels

Using Facebook Pixels you can track your ads and understand how they contribute to the realization of your dream. Your business decisions will be informed, and you will be able to determine the people you want to target and how to better do this.

Along the lines of placing codes and tracking data, there is also Facebook Pixels. This is something like Google Analytics, but for your Facebook pages. There are two types of pixels: The Facebook conversion pixel and the Facebook custom audience pixel.

Facebook Pixels enable you to:

  • track conversions from your Facebook Ads
  • identify how to optimize your ads
  • build targeted audiences to reach more people that are interested in Yoga
  • re-market your business and contact those who have already demonstrated an interest in your teaching.

The Facebook pixel gives you the information you need to create better and more focused Facebook ads. The data helps you ensure that your ads are seen by the people who are most likely to share your vision, feel inspired to follow your Yoga teaching, and perform the desired action on your Facebook page (click, follow, like, reply).
